Your Nutritional Blueprint

Have you ever wondered how much food you should actually be eating to support a healthy diet?

I must admit that my clients are pretty stunned when they find out just how much they need to eat to actually lose weight. They don’t realise that eating too little can actually cause you to put on weight.

So, how many calories do I need?

When it comes to losing body fat it is essential that you eat at least 20 calories per kg of your current bodyweight each day. Your body needs this much energy just to support your normal every day functions like breathing, digestion, thinking – living basically!

Then you need to add on extra calories to support your every day activities like walking, working and  running around after the kids.

When your body doesn’t get these minimum calories your metabolism gets sluggish and you begin to put on weight or fat. Add that to eating all the wrong foods when you do actually eat then it’s a recipe for disaster.

Give your metabolism a kick start

Ok, lets figure out how many calories you need to give your metabolism a kick start. Choose your current activity level from the table below and add the number to 20. Take that number and multiply it by your current body weight. So lets say you are moderately active (20+2) at 22 calories multiplied by your bodyweight of say 85kgs. You need to be eating at least 1870 calories per day. That means you need to be eating about 370 calories for each meal 5 times a day.

Activity Level Add Calories
Sedentary 0
Light Aerobic Exercise 1
Moderate Aerobic Exercise 2
Heavy Aerobic Exercise 3
Resistance Training 4
Both aerobic exercise & resistance training 5

If you have no idea what this actually looks like in terms of exactly what to eat then I recommend that you check out our Nutrition Complete program where it’s all done for you. We are currently offering a 21 Day Free Trial (no credit card required) so be quick as this is not going to be free for long.

Nutrition Complete allows you to choose delicious and healthy meals all at the click of a button. Plus, it will even give you the shopping list. Too easy!

And remember, don’t be daunted by the amount of food you need to eat. This stuff really works! Change the way you eat, get healthy and rev up your metabolism in the process.

Wishing you only health & happiness!
